Location
Balcarres is located approximately half a mile outside Fort William town centre, off the main road approaching the town from the south. It is in a peaceful elevated position, enjoying great views over Loch Linnhe, and the Morvern mountains beyond.
To reach Balcarres when approaching Fort William from the south along the A82 turn right into Seafield Gardens shortly after the 30 mph sign. Follow the road round, and then turn off taking the sharp turn left . Balcarres is the 3rd house along on the right.

By Car
Fort William is well signposted with access via the A82 from the North and South. Approximate driving times are one and a half hours from Inverness and two and a half hours from Glasgow. The AA website contains a journey planner which you may find useful when planning your trip.

By train
Scotrail runs a regular service from Glasgow Queen Street along the famous West Highland line. The train station is a walk of half an hour away, though taxis are readily available at the station and the fare is approximately £3.00. There is also a sleeper service available from London.
By plane
The closest airport is Inverness Airport (70 miles) from where you can hire a car. The closest international airport is Glasgow Airport which is approximately 100 miles away. Car hire is also readily available here.
